The Southern Brisbane Suburban forum is hosting the Breaking the cycle Flood Community Forum for Southern Brisbane.
This event aims to start a Proactive Conversation between experts, professional and the community in tackling the hard & difficult questions for all future Floods and Flooding events to build better living systems in your local area. With the third La Nina recently annouced together with Brisbane’s history of floods, climate change and Brisbane expanding with high population increases, this will be the event not to be missed with opportunity to seek, ask questions and participate in the discussion.
Featuring a Panel with Flood Historian & Author Dr Margaret Cook, other Flood Experts AND Social & Technical Professionals with opportunity for community voices with Q&A and an afternoon tea feedback session. The panel will delve into the Past; the Current Themes & Present actions (what you can do? what should you ask for?); and Future planning for Prevention & Resilience (Adaption, Elimination, Mitigation)
